Love is in the Air

Love is in the Air

Whilst it is not always Valentines Day, there is always a reason to send someone a card to say that you love them.

Creative Expressions have recently released a number of 8×8″ 3D embossing folders, including the lovely Heart to Heart folder.

To make this card I cut a 7×4″ piece of card and ran it through the embossing folder and using the debossed side, dabbed some Enchanted Gold Gilding Wax. Next I too a piece of 7×5″ red cardstock and using the Cut and Lift Heart String Edger cut the edge of the card, then adhered to a 7×5″ card. Next I layered the embossed piece of card, the Especially for You sentiment and Wordie Sentiment to complete the card.

The card today was made using another die from the recent Jamie Rodgers Wings of Wonder Collection from Creative Expressions – the butterfly die.

To make this I first cut out the Butterfly from cardstock coloured with Airless Mister Blackberry Bliss and cut out a backing using purple cardstock and glued them together.

Next I cut a number of white octagons using the small die from the Sue Wilson Stitched Octagon Die set then embossed using a number of different embossing folders.

I then cut out a piece of 6.75 x 5.75″ white of cardstock and splattered Blackberry Bliss droplets, adhered the embossed octagons, adhered the butterfly, cut out the Be Unique sentiment from purple cardstock and adhered using Cosmic Shimmer glue.

Finally Lilac 3D accents were added.

I am not one for using just an embossing folder to make a card. However in this case you can do just that. Creative Expressions have released a fantastic set of 3D embossing folders which can be used to make a quick but stunning card.

To make this one I used the Butterfly Garden and inked up the smooth side of the embossing folder with white pigment ink, cut a piece of Iris Foundation card 6.5 x 6.5″ then ran it through the die cutting machine. Next I ran distress oxide ink – Wilted Violet over the raise areas of the card.

I then cut the aperture in a piece of Iris cardstock using the Pierced Square Noble dies and assembled using Cosmic Shimmer glue, added a few silver accents and the sentiments were from the Wordies.
