Cuddling with Ted LOTV
Do you ever find that you see cards made by others and think Wow, I would like to make a similar card, buy the stamp and in doing so forget about all the other lovely stamps that you have bought over the years – many no longer on trend.
So I would like to say thank you Lili of the Valley for encouraging me to look at my old stamp stash to dig out poor stamps which have been hiding at the bottom of my stamp pile. This month their Facebook Challenge is the first stamp that we have bought. As I had used Promarkers to colour the image, I thought I would use the opportunity to enter into another Challenge over at Passion for Promarkers.
Therefore, as it is coming up for Christmas, and I am in the process of making Christmas cards, I thought I would use a stamp I have had for a long time – Cuddling with Ted. to enter in to the challenge. It was coloured using Promarkers – different shades of purple and blue, layered with an oval Sue Wilson Christmas die. Snowflakes were Penny Black Snowy die cut out and covered with Tonic Nuvo ice white glitter and stuck on randomly.
This is something that is unheard of – I am posting two cards in one week. In the future I do hope that that is something I can achieve, but can not always predict with work commitments.
This card is one that I made so that it can be entered into the Lili of the Valley September Facebook Challenge – Colours, which can also be entered itto the Paper Creators challenge – simply Christmas as I had used James the Bear Pile of Presents, a rubber stamp which is no longer available in stamp form. However it is still available in digi download format. He was coloured in with Warm Grey Promarker Pen, whilst the presents were Pumpkin, Pine and Chilli Red. Paper came from a stash which I had printed some time ago but was perfect for the colour challenge. The fur is Wow white fine glitter and the sentiment is also a Lili of the Valley stamp. That is now the start of my Christmas Card making for the year.
I, like one of my friends has a birthday on the 14th July – so I should have no excuse and not forget her birthday. However, on many an occasion I have been making a card which is drying the night before a birthday. This time I have planned well ahead and tied it in with the Lili of the Valley Facebook July Challenge – Feature a Creature and entered it in to a new challenge I have never entered before – Paper Creators – Anything Goes.
I used the Balloon Bunny, coloured in using my faithful Promarkers Pens and made the layers using different shades of purple card in my stash. Circle was cut using the Spellbinders Grand, and the layering background was made using the cellophane from flower bouquet which I thought was a good way to add a bit of interest to the card along with a bit of ribbon.
Guilty as charged. I have not written for a while, but have been busy making cards. On this dull dreich day, I thought I would share this thank you card made for a friend. I thought that I would also enter it in to the Lili of the Valley March Challenge on Facebook.
Using the Cupcake stamp, I coloured in with Promarker pens, Nitwits paper background paper, spellbinders were used to cut the layers and paper flowers added to finish it off.
Hope you are having a sunnier warmer day than us. I promise that I will share more designs with you soon.
Lili of the Valley December Winter Challenge
I cannot believe that we are now in December. Where did the past year go? Christmas cards are being made as we speak, so I thought I would use the opportunity to use one of my favourite Lili of the Valley stamps, the cute Penguin which is no longer available to buy, to enter the December Challenge on Facebook. I was lucky enough to win back in June, which has encouraged me to challenge my imagination. Hope you like the result and fingers crossed.
LOTV November Facebook Challenge
Having entered the LOTV Facebook Monthly Challenge regularly, this was one that stretched my abilities. Having never made a card with specific colours, the LOTV Facebook November Challenge wanted to bring together colours to commemorate Remembrance Sunday. This time I did not have a card ready and waiting to fit the challenge so had to look through my paper stash to see what was available. I picked three different LOTV stamps as I was still not sure what the theme was going to be. I found Nitwits Polar paper which I though had all the colours I needed, background plain paper, Promarker pens and WOW Glitter. These would be perfect to make a Christmas Card using James the Bear with tinsel.
Hope you like the result.
