Love is in the air

Love is in the air

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner and love is in the air, I thought I would share a card with you using a die I recently bought from Simon Says Stamps – Stacked Hearts. I first used Distress Oxides – Pumpkin Pie, Abandoned Coral and Festive Berries to colour card stock. I used the die to cut the coloured card stock, keeping the small hearts for a future project. The heart outlines were infilled with small white hearts coloured with clear Wink of Stella.

I layered this on to checked card stock made by stamping Concord and 9th Plaid Background Stamp with Festive Berries and Pumpkin Pie. The sentiment, stamped with Festive Berries ink was from Altenew.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it is good to get ahead and thought that this stamp from MFT – Recipe for Happiness would be perfect. It was a stamp set that I bought some time ago for a special reason – a chef was leaving his job. I then thought that there would be limited use for it afterwards unless I knew other chefs changing jobs. However, I looked at it again and thought this is great for love cards.

Using the MFT wall stencil, I used Distress Ink Barn Door to lighty colour the wall, gave the chef red colour clothing to keep the theme, then finally cut out hearts with the MFT Tag Builder BluePrints 6 to add as the aroma from the cooking.

Made this one today as I do believe that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Using the Sue Wilson Romantic Edger for the first time, I used red and silver card to make the lovely heart border, continued across the layers cut from Tonic layering dies. I also used the Sue Wilson wreath die for the first time to add a little bit of interest in the background.
