A little Bit of Green and Sparkle

A LITTLE BIT OF GREEN AND SPARKLE

Today I am sharing a card made for a young lady at the request of her Gran. It used the cute rabbit download from Lili of the Vally stamps. Although I own the rubber stamp, I wanted a bigger version and as the only stipulations for the card were that it was to be mint and silver with balloons, I thought this would be perfect.

It was coloured using promarkers, and layered on to the mirror card silver lattice, with pearlised mint green card to make the rest of the layers., cut using the Sue Wilson Shadow Box Collection – Stitched Lattice Frames and other Spellbinder layering dies. The sentiment was printed on card, and using a laminator was foiled in silver. Additional balloons were then cut out to add extra to the card. I was told that the Gran and young lady loved it.

I am entering the card in the following challenge;

Passion for #496 – Fur and/or Feathers

Texting to You

Texting to You

Male cards are normally quite difficult to make. My nephew was turning 18 and I decided that this rubber stamp Oliver Texting made by Lili of the Valley. He was coloured in using my Promarkers, fussy cut out and layered on to the black and tangerine background. That colour was selected as he is a Dundee United football supporter.

I am entering the card in the following challenge:

Passion for Promarkers Challenge 476 – Masculine Cards – It was then in  the top 5.

Birthday Boy

Birthday Boy

As with Olaf in the previous post, there is another birthday in the family. Arthur my husband and twin of my Sister-in-Law so it is double production of cards.

I may have previously stated that my husband is an avid golfer so the stamp from Lili of the Valley is a perfect one to use, seen by the many cards I have made using this stamp. The image was coloured using Promarkers, frame and layer was cut using the Spellbinders dies labels one. The background was made using paper in my stash. The plain blue paper was run through an embossing folder to give a wood look effect.

I am entering the card in the Passion For Promarkers Challenge 475 – dies or punches

Christmas Wreath

Christmas Wreath Cards

I know that Christmas has passed, and I am sure for some of you now a distant memory as plans for Hogmanay are well under way. However, I still have some Christmas cards to share. These were made using stamps from Card-io who provide a large number of small stamps which can be used for many an occasion. The stamps were inked with browns, reds and greens from Stampin’ Up and layered on cardstock to make these two wreath christmas cards. The sentiment was stamped from Lili of the Valley

It shows how different a card can look when the background layers are put down the opposite way.

First for the year

First for the year

I am sharing the first birthday card for the year with you, using,  one of my favourite Lili of the Valley, LOTV stamps – Playing Golf. If you look at some of my past blogs, you will begin to understand why it is such a popular stamp.

I began by colouring in with Promarkers, framed it with paper which is meant to resemble grass – if you look close enough you can see small blades of grass. I then decided to try something new and layered the image onto a background which included a cut off from the cellophane used to wrap bouquets. Crafters never throw anything away!

As this is a first for this year, I am entering the card in the Lili of the Valley Facebook Challenge – Something New. I also wish to enter it in the Passion for Promarkers Challenge – Masculine and Paper Creator’s Crafts – Anything Goes

As an update, this card made the Top 5 in the Passion for Promarkers challenge.

Bastille Birthday

Bastille Birthday

I, like one of my friends has a birthday on the 14th July – so I should have no excuse and not forget her birthday. However, on many an occasion I have been making a card which is drying the night before a birthday. This time I have planned well ahead and tied it in with the Lili of the Valley Facebook July Challenge – Feature a Creature and entered it in to a new challenge I have never entered before – Paper Creators – Anything Goes.

I used the Balloon Bunny, coloured in using my faithful Promarkers Pens and made the layers using different shades of purple card in my stash. Circle was cut using the Spellbinders Grand, and the layering background was made using the cellophane from flower bouquet which I thought was a good way to add a bit of interest to the card along with a bit of ribbon.

Happy Anniversary

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I regularly post cards that I make for friends and family. As this is my 35 Wedding Anniversary – who would believe it I wanted to make a quick card for my husband who loves all cards I make for him.

This one was made using another Lili of the Valley stamps, James the Bear, which this time I bought the digital download to use. Coloured him in using grey Promarkers and layered onto Nitwits backing paper.

Cupcake Thank You

Guilty as charged. I have not written for a while, but have been busy making cards. On this dull dreich day, I thought I would share this thank you card made for a friend. I thought that I would also enter it in to the Lili of the Valley March Challenge on Facebook.

Using the Cupcake stamp, I coloured in with Promarker pens, Nitwits paper background paper, spellbinders were used to cut the layers and paper flowers added to finish it off.

Hope you are having a sunnier warmer day than us. I promise that I will share more designs with you soon.LOTV_Cupcake

December Winter Challenge

Lili of the Valley December Winter Challenge

I cannot believe that we are now in December. Where did the past year go? Christmas cards are being made as we speak, so I thought I would use the opportunity to use one of my favourite Lili of the Valley stamps, the cute Penguin which is no longer available to buy, to enter the December Challenge on Facebook. I was lucky enough to win back in June, which has encouraged me to challenge my imagination. Hope you like the result and fingers crossed.

LOTV November Facebook Challenge

LOTV November Facebook Challenge

Having entered the LOTV Facebook Monthly Challenge regularly, this was one that stretched my abilities. Having never made a card with specific colours, the LOTV Facebook November Challenge wanted to bring together colours to commemorate Remembrance Sunday. This time I did not have a card ready and waiting to fit the challenge so had to look through my paper stash to see what was available. I picked three different LOTV stamps as I was still not sure what the theme was going to be. I found Nitwits Polar paper which I though had all the colours I needed, background plain paper, Promarker pens and WOW Glitter. These would be perfect to make a Christmas Card using James the Bear with tinsel.

Hope you like the result.
