Happy Birthday Sharon

Happy Birthday Sharon

Do you ever have an idea for a card, then half way through change it completely. This is not quite my original card idea and not quite an Eclipse card However this is my first card using Altenew Alphabet Dies and Water colouring of The Ton Peony Duo flowers to create a semi type of eclipse card.

The flowers were painted using Altenew Crimson Red water colour paint, just built up to give darker layers and the outline highlighted with grey.

I then used the Altenew Alphabet dies to spell out the name Sharon (my sister). the name was cut again a number of times and glued to raise the letters on the card. This was then where I found it the hardest – to stick the letters down straight and evenly. Hopefully they don’t look too bad. The sentiment was from Gina K Designs stamped with Altenew Crimson Red ink.

To co-ordinate with her present, I made a small gift tag using MFT dies, and stuck the letter S cut from the waste of the original painting.

Ton Mood Board Challenge – Peony Crush

I would like to tell you about a company I came across while flicking through one of my crafting card groups on Facebook. A talented lady Effie Cho had been demonstrating a card that she had made using The Ton stamps – and of course I had to investigate. Browsing through their products I couldn’t help fall in love with their many stamps and accessories. The only issue is that they are American suppliers and do not have any UK suppliers. However, I too the plunge and bought the lovely Peony Crush Cling Background stamp which, when it came (quickly I made add) had lovely fine detail.

I have used the stamp a number of times since and each time it stamps the fine detail lines. I decided that I would like to make a card and submit it in their September Mood Board Challenge with this birthday card made using the stamp embossed with red and gold, then water coloured with Stampin’ Up inks – Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Hello Honey and Gumball Green then layered with Gold and Chocolate card. To finish, the greeting was stamped on to vellum and embossed with the same red/gold as the background.

Hope you like my attempt.
