Sistahood Uptown Girl

Sistahood Uptown Girl

Slight change for this time of year, but people still have birthdays so cards still have to be made. This card was made for my Sister who has a birthday 3 days before Christmas. With most of the cards away in the shops, I find it is better to make my own.

I just love Opal the Optimist. What are you – glass half empty or glass half full? This is the resulting card – black and pink which make a great combination. Flowers made with Dovecraft punch and the backing of the sentiment from Lili of the Valey, made with a Stamping Up Punch. All coloured with Promarker Pens and stash backing paper.

As a card maker I am always on the lookout to try new ways at making cards and finding material that can be recycled to be used in cards. This one has turned out to be one of my favourites.

Although the silver mirror card was cut using the Penny Black die, layered on to silver background and pale blue card, the tree background was made using the cellophane wrapping florists use to wrap bouquets. I bought some from our local florists and used it as as a background for this card. One of my favourites Christmas Cards made this year. Hope you like it too.

December Winter Challenge

Lili of the Valley December Winter Challenge

I cannot believe that we are now in December. Where did the past year go? Christmas cards are being made as we speak, so I thought I would use the opportunity to use one of my favourite Lili of the Valley stamps, the cute Penguin which is no longer available to buy, to enter the December Challenge on Facebook. I was lucky enough to win back in June, which has encouraged me to challenge my imagination. Hope you like the result and fingers crossed.

Purple and Silver Christmas Card

On a roll with a second commissioned card made today – another Christmas Card, this time made using Sue Wilson Snowflake dies, silver mirror card and pearl deep purple card from Soho Paper Suppliers. It was just a matter of cutting all the corners to make the snowflakes, cutting out the tag and cutting of the snowflakes to put behind the big tag, all stuck down and there the card is. Hope the Sister In-Laws like it.

Sue Wilson Poinsettia Christmas Card

Sue Wilson Poinsettia Christmas Card

Today has been one of those days when it is day – but it has remained dull the whole time as if someone had forgotten to put on the lights. So what do you do when that happens? Yes, you make cards. I still haven’t made all my Christmas Cards, but not panicking. There are always bought cards if I have not made enough.

This one was made for my Sisters Nanny-in-Law as a special request. I always find it a lot of pressure when you are asked to specifically make a card for someone. So today I got out the Sue Wilson Poinsettia Dies and co-ordinating stamps, cut out and put Tonic glitter in the centre. Frames were cut in mirror gold using Sue Wilson dies again. All glued together and stuck down ready for Nanny.
